I'm on disability too Ron....I can relate. Made 5 races this year which probably cost 200 bucks each race for diesel for the truck!!! Can't ever get off this Island 'cause the ferries to the BC mainland set you back $500 + every trip. Sometimes I contemplate shelving all the race car thing, but the wife enjoys it, and I'll have to admit that it's one of the few things we do together. Unfortunately, this winter will be freshenup the race engine....needs head work and springs, new flexplate, new trans shield, and god knows what else that'll pop up.........Thank god the wife still works.

The main reason that I go is my wife hates it and I can get some rest and peace! Truth !

I can honestly say I am having a blast this year at the track. I took a high 9 second pump gas engine in the duster and made it a 10.20 car. I added an alternator and removed the fiberglass doors and replaced them with stock doors. I make a pass and crank the windows down. When I load up the car in the car trailer I climb out the window, tie the car down and its ready for the tow home. I am going rounds again and took second on Saturday and I am starting to get REAL comfortable in this car. I still want to finish the Daytona over the Winter and race it again next year but I am not really looking forward to the extra work and 3 layer safety ware again. I may just use it for some Top Sportsman racing.

TBoomer- I have been in the same boat this year as well. Haven't had my car out since last fall. Planning on going to the test and tune at Cedar Falls Sat afternoon.
