I know there is probably no way to tell for sure but of the 362 or so automatic 69 GTX convertibles how many would anyone guess were produced with the A32 Super Street Performance axle Package (4:10 Dana) and N96 Airgrabber package? I have owned this car with these options for almost 14 years and have often wondered. Gerry

US spec. 1969 GTX convertibles (RS27):RS27 = 551 RS27 / E86 ~ 540 RS27 / E86 / D32 ~ 362 RS27 / E86 / D32 / A32 ~ 15RS27 / E86 / D32 / H51 ~ 81 RS27 / E86 / N96 ~ 163 RS27 / E86 / no A/C & no "AIR GRABBER" ~ 296 Put in perspective there are more 440/4-spd '69 GTX convertibles than ones with an "AIR GRABBER" hood. ..... an additional 149 GTX convertibles were built to CANADA spec. & EXPORT spec. for 1969.

So with RS27 / E86 / D32 / A32 / N96 there were more than likely < 15 US spec.?
I think the above (adding the 4.10s to the equation) is the question you are asking. Also, all 700 of the '69 GTX convertibles were US production (at the St. Louis, MO assembly plant), but some were shipped to CANADA & some overseas. (a large number of the EXPORT orders were from returning US servicemen & were shipped to delivery destinations stateside)
Anyway, the US / RS27 / E86 / D32 / A32 / N96 combination is probably less than 15 units, but any number would be a WAG (2, 10, 13, 15 )!
If you're looking to brag, just go with the 1 of 15 - 4.10 DANA 60 equipp'd US cars, it's a good number!

Love the stable of rides. I have had the same question on my 69X convert as to number of. Like yours, I also have a air grabber car. Mine is a triple black, air grabber, with performance stripes, all numbers matching 440 A/T car. It boils down to no way of knowing, just loving what we have and keep the remaining of the less than 700 made, on the road. I would love to have a list of those known remaining. I would ask that anyone who has a 69 X convertible, or knows of someone with one, to get in touch with me.

I have a 69 GTX convertible owned it since 1984 ( I was 15 when I got it from my brother) 440 4 speed, pw,ps, pb, light package, alpine white, blue interior, non console car. 50k original miles. Original window sticker, 3 build sheets. When my brother bought it off the original owner it had 37k miles. It was a great survivor car. It didn't need a resto, but I wanted to fix some minor dings, small rust issues so I restored it. Just finished restoration. It still retains its original interior, top, spare, etc.. I basically did a repaint, rechromed bumpers, trim panel etc.

A little off topic but your GTX ragtop looks awesome in red/black.
Back around 1984 in Monroe, NY I used to pass an ice cream stand almost everyday. Someone who worked there had a very rough red/black GTX ragtop & I always looked for it as I drove past. Then one day it had a for sale sign on it, & without hesitation, I turned around & went back to ask about it. There was a woman who worked there, probably mid to late 20's who owned it. I asked how much & she said $1000 for it. It was REALLY ROUGH & had rust in every single place it could have rust. I said "Thanks, I'll think about it", & left. It was there on & off for a few more months & then I just didn't see it anymore.
Never knew if it sold, or ended up junked.

Here is a picture of my car the day my brother brought it home (1984) the original owner just replaced the original tires one week before he sold it. He said they were still good shape, but he thought the new owner would want new tires!

Chrysler Corp. tracked driveline combinations & individual OPTIONS in '69 - they did not track colors.

One of the Super Trak Pak 69 HEMI GTX convertibles is in upstate New York, I saw it about 2-3 yrs ago...it's actually welded to/sitting on a 4X4 chassis believe it or not, the current owner has plans on a resto, drivetrain is long gone, but most of the body is intact, and in surprising good shape considering the trauma it's gone thru...

I used to own a 69 GTX Convertible, 440 4 speed Super Track Pack (one of 33). It was one of the best car's I've ever owned but had it's issues like anything else. It was a color change which bothered me a bit because to put it back to the correct color would have cost thousands and made a nice blue car an ugly yellow car!!! It was in MCG May 2001.
Darryl you were selling the R6 car in Aug. of 02, I just looked at my file from when I was looking to buy it from you.
Ron, I LOVED your GTX! I thought it was a GREAT restoration and Im pretty sure you improved on it after the last time I saw it.

Do you have a b'cast sheet? Is it an OHIO car? I looked at a R6 convertible ~20 years ago in NE Ohio.
I found a pic of this '69 GTX convertible, it appears to be: R6 black dash 4-spd 3.54s V6W

same car, I talked to the Vegas area owner several years ago.
My former B5 with blue and white int car is also in Vegas. at least it was a few years back
I spoke to the guy in Vegas also. I believe he had the car advertised in HMN. He told me he purchased the car out of Atlanta area. He seemed to know a lot about the car but I never could get the guy to send me any photos. Then he fell off the planet and commo ceased.

hi all, i saw where there was "another" GTX convertible thread, so i am posting my info here too. thanks. hi all, i am also interested in finding out about any other 69 GTX converts there are out there. Particularly scorch red ones and 4-speeds. that's what mine is. I'd also appreciate any information on it at all. (good bad and ugly included) I'm sure i paid too much for it in late 2009, but took a chance on how the market would go and really wanted a white interior/red and 4-speed, so figure there aren't too many that come for sale, though I did see the one on Ebay (super nicer than mine) go for 55K this is the same car. (sorry if I am repeating any info from previous posts, i had a pretty good look first, but may have missed something) http://www.turnerautomotive.com/1969_gtx_red_vert.htmI bought mine from Glyn Ferrell in Missouri and it was briefly at Fastlane Cars in MO. unfortunately it was not "super" work done on the car, but I "think" for the most part it's pretty solid underneath. It is non numbers matching and is missing the radiator support as it's been replaced. however the numbers match on the trunk lip. I'm open to open and honest comments on it. you may not be able to see this on my page but i have this info as well.here is a link to mine. https://www.flickr.com/groups/1361580@N24/"This is my GTX convertible. Would love to hear from others who own one or who has interest in them. I am also trying to find the previous owner, Glora M Beck of Alma, IL. If anyone has any contact info, that would be appreciated." one guy on ebay said that Govier claimed there were only 25 '69 4 speeds left in existence, but I assume that meant that only 25 were "registered" any info is appreciated. thanks. thanks, Dale Greenville, NC

Back in the early 90's, my family and I looked at a 69 GTX vert that was for sale by the owners father in either White Lake, Mi or Grass lake, MI (I dont remember exactly). I do remember it was a B5 exterior, B7 interior 440 4 speed center console air grabber hood car with a fender tag and supposedly all numbers. It was in need of a resto. Solid, just tired looking. The story was that the son who owned the car lived out of state and the dad was selling it for him, but the old man said he wanted all the cash for the car and he would send us the title once his son sent it up from down south somewhere. We passed, sounded sketchy.
It did come with an extra replated trunk trim panel as I recall, no other parts. Always wondered what happened to that car.

I know the car and ex owner of this 69 Red GTX Convert he is a friend of mine. This ex-owner at the same time also had a GTX B5 Blue white interior white top convert but I think it started life as a Sport Satelite but not for sure. Alma is 12 miles from me. Don't know where you got the name Glora Beck ?? Dale pm me to get the old owner contact info. Also I may have the original Dana for the car. Check your axle tube info to verify, as I bought 2 dana's from him 3 years ago.

It's funny how I saw this one sell at least twice on Ebay in the past month or so but then it showed up at the Atlantic City Auction last week and was bid to 45K and didn't sell. Alot of games being played with that one. Didn't look bad in person but not perfection, at 35-38K it would be a good deal. At 45K too much still needing attention. Guess that car is destined to a life of no love. Ron

thanks for pointing that out, Ron, I lost track of that one after the last Ebay auction. I do recall one recent red GTX convt on Ebay that stated it was not an original red car, but it must have not been this one, or else they failed to say that. couldn't find any fender tag info
Dale
I'm pretty sure I read the fender tag and the colors were right. But then again sometimes I don't know what day it is!! Ron

Just to clarify the one I eyeballed at Atlantic City was the Red w/Saddle interior. I think it was coded R4 and T5 for interior.
Ron,
I have that car in the registry and the fender tag info on it is that the car was originally T5 "Bronze Fire" with P6H "white with tan" interior and T7 Copper upper door frame color.
