Ok, so Kick this idea around and tell me what you think.....

Monster Mopar East Vs West

West Divison = Indy and St Louis

East Division = (2) Unknown Tracks, but Im thinking MIR and another track that is Under 8 hours from Norwalk

Saturday and Sunday will be separate Points Races so each division has 4 points opportunities

We will automatically choose your best 4 points races, so if you only go to two of the tracks you have 4 points contributions, or if you go to all 4 tracks we would still only pick 4 (any combination of saturday and sunday races) Also if you do great at indy and poor at st louis you can travel to one of the other tracks to make up for it

After those races are held, we will all meet in Norwalk for the East V West Final for a double points race and to crown the series champ.

Josh I like the idea of east vs west but why not just pick the top 4 races no matter where they run. I think that's what you are proposing just not explicitly stating it.

I think with the distance to travel for a lot of drivers they will more apt to sign up for the points program if you keep 4-6 claims in the first 4 races then Norwalk as a claim as well. I know for me Indy is about 7 hours towing and St Louis is out of the picture. I would travel to the other 3 and sign up for a points program knowing that missing St Louis wouldn't hurt my chances at an overall championship.

Looking at the tracks around here getting 80% paved pits may be an issue. PRP has the most asphalt around here and they are not near 80%.

Quaker is a nice track as well not going to have the pavement you are looking for in the pits.

I like this idea. You don't have to hit all the races. I would plan to go to all 4 anyway! never raced at MIR but people say it's a real good track. Don't know about hotels and after hours stuff though. Atco would be a good choice. Top notch track outside of Philly.

We would pick the top 4 races regardless of what tracks an individual would run. But you would not be limited to just 2 tracks. You can go to all 4 and take a crack at it, or you can dominate 2 and stay home for the other 2

I expect that most people will hit 3 of the races and the final at norwalk if it was set up that way....most people are not going to all 4

Sorry about not being able to go to Columbus, but that is their loss!!!! I would definately look into Quaker City - if it was good enough for the HEMI REUNION it should be good enough for your race!! HEMI JOE

Pittsburgh would be a good choice if it would fit in and Quaker City would be a nice choice too as that seems to be a popular track in that area, plus I am sure the new owners would appreciate the concideration.

The whole Shorthorse racing team agrees, PRP and the Curt George Memorial.

Josh,
It sounds like you want to stay at top notch tracks, which I agree is the way to go to run a top notch series. Indy, Norwalk and St. Louis all fit that bill, I have raced at all 3, and they are very nice. As far as facilities go, I think that the best remaining are:

1. Z-Max in NC, probably nicest, but may not fit
2. Bristol, very nice place, but kind of unpopulated location
3. US 131, Martin MI, seems like a good fit-besides the east-west
4. Maple Grove, very nice place and not too far east.

However, Pittsburgh is probably the smartest choice. It is a familiar venue for Mopar series racers, and sounds like Bob George wants to be involved.

I would love to see Quaker City be on your schedule. It a nice place and will draw cars. It is within a few hours of probably the majority of the racers that will run points. It shouldn't be too expensive, and the owner is a good guy with an open mind.

Can't wait until next year!

BTW, are you planning on running max wedge and hemi seperate or as a NSS class?

Jeff Day

I will always run my Nss class by nss rules. I'm hoping to gain steam with the Hemi super stock crowd and always be able to give them a place to race as well.

My only hiccup with nss is the separation of organizations. I want separate points races both Saturday and Sunday, and we do that to accommodate 2 groups of cars.
