Will the dash frame fit in the Runner?
Absolutely. That is why I chose to use the firewall. The customer wants the full SRT8 interior.

If everyone really knew how much work this stuff actually takes. Sometimes you just got to do it because you think it's cool and take a haircut on the labor.

Thanks guys.
It's definitely been challenging.
My goal was to keep this car looking like a muscle car. Keep it low and on 18" wheels. I looked at some others doing this, and they simply set the shell on the stripped off LX chassis. They all looked like 4 wheel drives. Even with 22" wheels it still sat waaayyyy to high. I chose to replace the pan and rails and set this thing at a pre-dertemined ride height. Now I know why they set them that high!! It makes for a ton of extra work to set this thing low, but stance is everything!!

Thanks Josh,
I don't hate the Roadrunner yet. It's fighting, but so far I'm winning. See what happens in the next round!

I know this is a broad question but, What would something like this cost, lets say no body work or paint, just the structural stuff and a running driver...
If you dropped off your car and said make it an SRT8 inside and out, you'd be north of 30K. That is me providing the donor car and you picking up a running driving car, less exterior body and paint. I finish paint the engine compartment, trunk, and interior so everything can stay mounted and undercoat the bottom. I'm guessing the owner of this car will probably be in around 55k when done, but I don't know the shop that's doing the P&B, so I don't know the quality.
That being said, I know guys who have spent that easily in a resto stock RR. At the end of the day that resto car is not really a driver, but a "sit in front of it in a lawn chair" car at a local parking lot. You always know when a local car show is happening because of the the old cars in the slow lane at 55mph and 3500 rpm heading their, leaving ten car lengths between others so if the KIA slams on brakes they won't rearend it. I've been their, my customer has been their, and this is what he wanted for a solution. I think it will be a fun and enjoyable car, something you can drive everyday.

I'd agree, 30k sounds pretty fair if you want something you can put 50,000 miles on.
I can't afford this.

Sorry guys,
In the middle on moving my shop. Wasn't planning it, but it came up for sale and couldn't pass it up. Thankfully it's right behind me!! The "new" 4000 sq. ft. back shop is where I will set up the projects, fabrication, and my 'Cuda. It also gives me an additional 2600 sq. ft. of offices/waiting area/conference room, etc (which are full of painted 'Cuda parts!)... I'll keep the late model mechanical in my current building, so progress is stalled for a bit.
