Been driving/racing w/an 8" 5000+ vert for years and my temps have never been above 180 and that`s summer hot desert weather and usually averages bet 150-160............I do run a seperate B&M trans cooler catching air below my ft. lic. plate.

Synthetic trans fluid can reduce temps and provide extra "insurance" against heat-related issues because it holds up better than conventional fluids if temps do get out of hand. I use Amsoil Supershift in my race car 904 , also with a cooler, converter actually flashes between 5,000 and 5,400, and my transmission rebuilder usually comments on how good everything looks inside when I do bring it it for preventive maintenance. Amsoil Supershift They also have a universal fluid which has been working well in my 2004 Dodge diesel. Amsoil Universal trans fluid.

I also use the supershift Amsoil fluid. No issues for years, but I'm going for more stall and just wanted to be sure. The one fan that I do have is a 1995-97 Caravan unit that keeps both the engine and trans cooler at bay in traffic. Usually when I'm on the open highway, the incoming air is good enough to keep it all cool. I also have the trans cooler lines in Copper as that material gets rid of the heat faster. Years with no issues.
