on a 68 charger what is the correct routing for the belts. my car has power steering but no ac. should it be one belt for alt and crank pulley and the other power steering water pump and crank pulley. or one belt for alt water pump and crank. and the other for power steering and crank.

i forgot to mention the car has a 383. so i routed the belts the way they were before which has one belt on the alt and crank pulley and the other going from power steering crank to water pump. i was putting on the power steering pump back on after driving with it off for a few weeks and now the whole front of the car shakes and rattles with it installed. i checked all the bolts i loosened and they are tight. any ideas? the problem that had me driving with no power steering pump for awhile was that i bought a new one but it seized while my engine was being broken in. so i got a seal kit and fixed the old one.

on all 3 ofmy non a/c big blocks the belts are the other way. power steering just on crank and alternator, waterpump and crank. sounds like you have a miss matched set of pullies.
