So my 2008 Ram 4wd needs new tires (the factory goodyears are getting reety worn down).

Any suggestiosn on what brand of tires are the best?

The truck sees a few highway miles, bit no real heavy loads.

Thanks,

Jason

I like BF Goodrich. I have Long Trail, 265/75/16 on my 01 4wd ram. They have almost 90, 000 miles on them. Now 95% of those miles are highway miles with no load on them. They are 8 ply, not sure they make these in 8 ply anymore, but I like them.

Michelin hands down .
I got over 100K on the 1st set on my truck .
current set is about 68K and going strong.

When I replaced them I figured the truck would be gone when the next time came for tires again,,,,,,,now not so sure.

GOODYEAR FORTERA Triple Tread
I had these on my 2002 Ram 1500 Quad Cab and they were the best tires I ever drove on in the rain and snow. Traction was simply unbelievable. Wear was a little disappointing .... I got about 50k out of them, but they still performed better than the replacement Bridgestones. When these wear out I am going back to the Fortera.
The traction and ride more than make up for slightly lower total mileage.

Not the same vehicle ('01 Durango), but put Michelin Cross-Terrains on mine. Quiet ride, good in wet weather, handle well, improved mpg by 1/2 to 1 or so, and seem to be wearing well.

Just put a set of Michelin LTX/MS2 on my Mega Cab. Mine are E rated though, which you don't really need. To me it's worth the extra money to have a good set of tires under the family. I looked at everything out there and will NOT buy Goodyear tires again. I almost bought the BF's as mentioned above, but I wanted the heavier rating for some towing.

Got Mopar???
