Hi folks

I was about to repair the turn signal switch of my Challenger and started to remove the crush can, but noticed that the two threads where the steering wheel puller is attached were badly damaged and can't hold at all the bolts of the puller.

Tried to use Loctite threadlocker, but even it could not hold the bolts in place to pull the can out of the steering shaft...

I assume I am not the first who has run into a same kind of problem when trying to pull the crush can.

Good advice is highly appreciated, how should I now remove the crush can without damaging it severly?

Try tapping the holes one size larger.
I know it will be difficult to find taps that long .
You have to fab some by welding a long rod to the tap.
DO NOT TRY TO PRY THE CAN FROM THE BOTTOM.
You will damage it badly.
DO not try to remove it by using the 3 small bolts at the top of
the can . You will stretch the crush ribs.

Same thing for me and I used a big bearing removal tool that I put just under the can, I put bigger bolts to be above the can.
