dies immediately after releasing the key or after a bit? Recent problem? always done it? Any part changes/adjustments right BEFORE the problem started

if you've changed all that stuff with known good parts the issue has to be in the wiring between the switch and the ballast, when it makes the transition between start and run. it's 2 different circuits.

so now you eliminated the ballast which is normally what this would be, unless it is bad again, which you check for continuity.

second you eliminated the ignition switch, but again, could still be bad.

the next thing to check for voltage at the ballast, then back track to the bulkhead connector till you find your missing power.

Have you done an electronic ignition conversion, I am guessing yes since you mention the module.

Try looking at the pickup coil inside the distributor. This seems to have the signs of a failed one.

If this is a car with the ign swithc mounted on the column, actuated by a rod from the lock cyl, that switch could be not adjusted/located properly.

1968 roadrunner. thanks

Unless the column was changed this is a dash switch.
I agree with those saying to chase that wire back to the bulkhead.
Might just need a good cleaning.
Hope so.

If its not the pickup coil, you can also check the grounds to the ignition module.

My eddy 1406 would stall for no reason at idle regularly & it was dirt in the idle circuit. A 2 second blast of starting fluid into each idle mixture screw hole took care of it (repeated twice in a weeks' time). But from your descrip you're thinking it is an electrical prob?. I would clean the bulkhead brass terminals for a start

The problem is likely in the connector from the ignition switch to the bulkhead.

Mine would occasionally do that, and when I looked deeper into the problem, I found this:
