A friend has a '68 A body /6 and wants to replace the k frame with
the later style spool mount frame. Will this work with the '68 sus-
pension and steering components? Will engine sit in original location?

Yep. I have a 73-76 Spool type K-member in my 68 Barracuda.

The 68-72 A-body steering can be used. But it need to stay together: idler, centerlink, pitman, and steering box.

The 73-76 strut rods are a little shorter to accomodate the thicker 73-76 strut bushings. You don't have to use those, but it would be a good idea.
