What happened? AJ was late, that's all. Its disappointing but lets not forgot that he took over third place in points this weekend. Not to mention, he was on his A-game in E1 against Jeggie. This year more than ever, AJ has risen to the challenge with his driving even when the car was not up to par.

I think that people here are being so critical because now more than ever, we have a driver on the cusp of a championship and its frustrating when he doesn't take advantage of certain situations. Right now, Summit are the "Titans" and have a hold on Pro Stock right now, so its not gonna be easy to knock them off, Allen getting that .091 light speaks to that. But Allen wasn't the only driver to have a bad light. Jason Line had a 0.153 or so and he's supposed to be better than that as well, but he went to sleep as well. I think we all just need to be patient.

Personally, I'm enjoying the fact that we have four capable Mopar Pro Stock cars racing every weekend. I just wish Roy was supplying power for every car.

Well said. He has really stepped up his driving and doing a great job. Every racer is going to have a so-so day on the tree especially in a car like pro stock. Remember its not always the driver as the car set-up (clutch) has a lot to do with it also and they just made major changes. (new engine) Keep up the GREAT work guys.

I'm very happy that there is more development done for the mopar pro stock engine than in only one address. Seems that V.Gaines has also refound the power lately, and Jegs speeds have been competitive too. Adn a rela surprise is the Nickens built entry of Chris McGaha which is capable of qualifying to despite of the very limited program. It's a good thing.

I just read Allen's Blog on nhra.com and here's his response in regard to being late. It just goes to show you never know whats happening inside of that car.

from the article: " We were very fast on Sunday, and unfortunately didn’t quite have the results we were hoping for. It was all my fault on that one. I didn’t do the staging correctly. I got in too deep on the stage bulb by mistake, and was just scared to death I was going to red light. Whenever you think anything when you’re staging, you are usually beat. That was all driver error. That’s the first one I’ve made in a few years, so I’ll chalk that one up as a mistake and move on."

Well, there you go. From my own experence, when you think "don't go red", you probably won't. More than likely the results that he had instead.

Love to see AJ win it all simply because of Roy's long time association with Mopar.

Champions always find a way to win the close one's.. makes you wonder if it's just not his time yet.

I would like to see some of stat guys info on his reaction time averages and leaving first percentage - not sure I buy it's been awhile line

I will be at the K/N horsepower challenge rooting for team mopar just the same

points reset anyway..

sheez as always tough crowd here on moparts..
you guys should just write the check for a couple of million ...
then show us all how its done...?

Allen has been in this thing through good and bad...and has carried the bucket for mopar for yrs..
Im a diehard mopar fan...
if you took the Johnson family out of prostock all these yrs...then the mopar cars in prostock would be on par with AMC right now..
I want to see him win...just as much as he does..
in the big picture of things. ill hold off raising my rifle...just to so i can hear a bang ..
I see it as a glass half full fwiw.

Go Johnsons family...we are behind you..
