hi, can anyone give me any ideas about a issue i am having with my 69 superbee. I just put a pioneer stereo in and thought everything was fine. until i had to turn on my headlights and thats when I lost the stereo, dash lights, and tail lamps. The fuse blew, i replaced it however everytime the lights and stereo are on at the same time this occurs. any help would be appreciated. thanks

You have that circuit overloaded. Move the stereo to a relay, triggered

by an ignition switched 12V.,keep the yellow wire on a constant 12V.

source.

The red wire from the new radio should use the red wire that originally went to the factory radio. That is a 20A circuit. The backup power (often yellow) needs to go to a constant power circuit and this is usually a low current need so I usually use the cig lighter circuit as that is close by. If you are blowing the dash light fuse you have somehow tied into that circuit, BUT if you have, the radio should not work if the lights are off.

You need to go back and look at every wire you touched and see where you crossed things...

well i just found out what i think is the cause. one of the wires came out of the plug on the passenger side tail lamp, i dont know how or why, maybe it got bumped by a lawn chair or cooler that might have shifted or something, i put it back and now everythings working FOR NOW. kinda wierd, maybe its just coincidence that it happened the 1st time the lights and radio were on at the same time so thats what led me to think of the stereo. thanks for the help
