Noone has probably noticed but I've been laying low the last few months while i worked through a health issue. Well the verdict is in, and there is nothing else to work through.

Inoperable Pancreatic Cancer.

If I can make it through the new few weeks to be able to start Chemo, I've got a 50/50 shot at being around till the first of the year. (At least I'll find out of the Myans were right).

I just learned that today, and beleive or not, that is far better news than I was being given just late last week.

I'm barely 51, so this really kinda sucks. But, having time to get my affairs in order is better I suppose than just not coming home from work one day due to a traffic accident or something like that.

I 'll be posting a wiw for my Charger in a few weeks to help my Wife know what she can expect for it when the time comes.

There's no real point in my rant, except I needed to tell someone and I'm not ready to tell anyone at work until I have some things in order.

Steve

I don't really know what to say to you, besides the obvious hoping for the best for you.

Kevin (340six) was stage 3 with it spreading to a lot of areas and he's still with us, I can only wish the same for you.

Oh man I am so sorry for you.. and for your family..

Being one year older than you, I've often wondered how I would deal with a situation similar to yours.. if I was given the news.. I'm glad that you seem to be in good spirits and hope that you continue to endure..

God bless you and I wish you and your family the best..

I know who you are... YOU are the guy that has enough balls to drive your car how YOU want, regardless of what the value is! Pavement? Sure! Rain? You bet! Gravel? Even better!
Sorry to hear the news. Lets keep a positive attitude and hope for the best.

Wow, sorry to hear. That does really suck. Hope chemo goes well for you, hoping for the best. Life span in a situation like this is not something they can predict with a whole lot of accuracy. You could be gone 3 weeks from now or still here 3 years from now.

Sorry about the news. Stay positive and hope for the best.

I'm 51 too. Some say it's not the quantity of life but the quality. Just make good use of the time left.

stay positive, not that's it a good comparison but a friends wife after being repeatedly misdiagnosed with "urinary tract infections" finally got a doctor that actually did their job. she was told the cancer was stage three and inoperable, it sounded pretty grim. she ended up getting chemo and radiation which shrank it to the point they could operate. that was at least five years ago and she's doing fine now.

cancer is never good news but compared to years past they've made some pretty good progress against it overall

Gusteve - don't give up! My sis in law was diagnosed at Christmastime with inoperable pancreatic and liver cancers. They gave her 30-60 days at that time. She got a second opinion and began treatment at the Cancer Centers of America (she goes from Toledo to Zion, Il one week a month). She is getting stronger, her cancer indicator number yesterday was 949 (started out at nearly one million 6 months ago, 35 is cancer-free). The aggressive treatment is not what is practiced in normal hospitals and tagets the affected organs only. She hasn't even lost any hair.

My point here is to please don't resign yourself to this and that you speak with these people soon. They have taken our family from hopeless to looking forward to tomorrow. You will be in our family's thoughts and prayers.

What sad news. I'm also 51. My thoughts are with you. I also believe that your attitude and will to survive are the most important things. Research the best doctors/hospitals to utilize. I am hopeful you will be one of those miracle survivors that talks about your cancer scare well into the future.

I've been hearing this far too often of late, and have buried 3 friends in the last year alone.

The only thing I can offer (beyond my family sending our positive energy your way) is get you affairs in order, then make the most of your time! That time can be much longer then "they" say, so plan in that direction instead!

One friend was given 2-3 months, and she just plain refused to believe that, and tried a natural garlic plan. She went into complete remission and had another 6 fantastic, illness-free years, before it came back with a vengeance and took her. 6 healthy years is much better than 2-3 months! Mind over matter works!

I noticed, noticed a few others as well. I'm sorry to hear about the cancer. I'll keep my 'puters working on cancer research and donate to cancer.org when I can. Hang in there.
