So my 300L rag top is ready for the road... except for one small thing. (Not small actually.) The steering column biscuit is shot. In a desire to avoid catastrophic failure on the highway, I'm now trying to find a replacement unit. Can someone please advise whether this part is interchangeable with 1965-1970 300s or any other vehicles made by Chrysler? Unsure which cars share the same part and would be easier to find?

NOS would be awesome, but a used unit pulled out of a junk yard or donor car would most certainly do the trick.

Much obliged on the help!

Don't know if this is still available or not. I do know that they are not available from the dealer anymore.

300Rag, great to connect! If your avatar was taken of your 300, that color is awesome. And that 4 speed/wedge combo makes her a very rare bird.

Do you know whether this piece from Bouchillon is flexible or rigid? They have some fine print that originally scared me off ("fits most '72 and later B and C bodies"). Due to the angle of the connection, I need a biscuit that's got the requisite flex in it.

If your rag joint looks like that, it should be fine. It says '72 and later B bodies, but they don't mean only '72 and later C bodies too.

Many C bodies from '65 to '73 use that style but not all of them. I'm not sure why. My '67 doesn't have it, but my '73 does.

Thanks 440newport. Believe that it does so will give them a buzz tomorrow to confirm.

Mancini has them.

Thanks, Kevin. Will give Mancini a ring as well. Their product looks a bit different, but it may be due to the "some assembly required" description.

Thanks gents!

Yes the avatar is my 300. It came back from paint 3 weeks ago and I am in the re-assembly process right now:

The bouchillon coupling is a rubber puck just like the original. I don't think the mancini one is correct for this application.

If your's looks like the Mancini kit, they call it a rag joint. The other one I think is different and I don't recall seeing one on anything I've ever had.

UPDATE
Just spoke with Randy at Bouchillon. Very nice fellow, but my search must continue

Apparently, they first made repro units out of rubber. Those units failed, as did the OEM ones, because of age (e.g., rubber) and steering column misalignment. The maker then went to polyutherane units but all cars run hotter today due to modern gas so they burned and made an aweful stale fish smell. Current design is made out of T6 billet aluminum. Unfortunately, I need a flexible unit because the linkage is at a slight angle which the current aluminum unit can't accommodate... but a rubber version can.

Net sum: still looking if anyone has an old part in their garage or may know of a parts car owner looking to make a sale!
