Does someone have the correct measurement for a 70/71 Duster Z-Bar? Width wise and the throw of each arm - from the bottom of the arm to the top of the arm.

I'm having issues with my z-bar causing a lot of grinding so i'm starting to think i have the wrong z-bar possibly?

Thank you!

did you grease the bushings? does the bar look crooked when looking at it should be strait across between the two pivot balls. have someone press the clutch and watch to see if it,s bending from binding. are the ends of the rod from the clutch pedal to the z-bar worn?

Bushings are all greased, the z-bar appears to be straight however, on the fender stud - it only appears to be slightly over the stud. Is this normal or should it cover the entire thing? Ends of the z-bar are not worn.

I'm wondering if I got the wrong z-bar in there or are all A-Body's the same?

The z-bar should be a 1:1 lever, so the actual length is not as important as it having the correct angles (should be in the 4-4.5" range, though). Make sure you aren't losing pedal travel to loose parts.

all the a-body z-bars are the same except the big block but either one will work. is the bar that goes to the clutch pedal worn? the fender stud does only go in just past the plastic bushings and seal. is the clutch fork on the pivot in the bell housing or did it slip out a little and if it did the throwout brg might be cocked on the fork?see if both springs on the throwout brg are on the fork correctly
