I use this Harbor Freight sandblaster to blast with black grit/slag from Menards. I go about 100 psi and occassionally the hose will burst (and sand the floor or my legs). The manual says never go above 125 psi.

Any recommendations? I've got a new/stonger hose from Mcmaster-Carr but I can't get the clamps tight enough over the barbs to prevent leaking.

I think the harbor freight instructions say 90 psi. I have not always had the best luck witH mine. One moment it is blasting great the next, not so great. Still working the bugs out.

I blast plastic at about 40 PSI and slag like what your trying to shoot at 75 PSI max on a car body with lot's of volume.

You are wasting your time with that sorry excuse for a tool. My

A tool rental for the blaster and compressor would be a much better deal and you would get it done in one day instead of never.

Go buy some real heavy industrial hose clamps. then take off the lower manifold and drill out the horizontal body (parrallel to the ground). I took it about as far as i felt safe with, which was pretty far. I have not had one clog since i did that. I use the black stuff from tractor supply. It works really well. I had to play with the lower sand control setting a bit, but now that its dialed in i never touch it.

I run around 80-100 psi. whatever my main regulator is set at at the time!

Clogging is likely due to moist air. When I first got my HF blaster it clogged all the time. I purchased a good water separator (cost as much as the blasting unit) and haven't had a problem since.

Ya i forgot to mention. I run like 30 feet of hose, then into a regulator/water seperator, then about 50 ft to the regulator/water seperator on the sandblaster. It still clogged until i drilled out that manifold.
