What is a good rotating torque for a 4.080 x 3.580 shortblock w/ std tension 1/16 ,1/16,3mm rings. I just did mine and I think I'm doing pretty good.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

3mm STD tension oil ring?

I'll guess, 22 ft/lb, continuous.

Anyone ever had a motor stutter when turning over slow by hand has got to be rings causing it, crank turned over smooth as silk... .0025main clearance.....rings have already been broken in.....these are hellfires on a 4.030 bore with .032/.035 gap.

Yeah, std tension oil ring, or at least that's what I ordered. I should have stated "break away" torque. Anyway w/ oiled up cyls. the breakaway is 16.5-17 ft lbs w/ no cam installed.

I've got to give the machinist credit for a job well done.

EDIT; Verified they are std tension.
