My friend has a 340 Dart with a 4 speed. It has a strange pressure plate problem. The clutch pedal will rise as the rpm increases. About 5000 rpm, the pedal runs out of free play and the clutch begins to slip. To make it not slip at 5000 rpm, it must have about 1/2 pedal travel of free play. If adjusted correctly, the pedal rises and runs out of free play at about 3500 rpm. The clutch linkage is correct. It has solid engine mounts. The pressure plate is a 3 finger Zoom unit. Any ideas?

The only time I have ever seen anything like this is when one finger is too high or an eye bolt is coming apart.
One other thing to check that will also cause some issues is crank shaft end play.
Sorry but thats all I have without being able to watch it up on the lift
