So my little roadster is getting a full make over this winter including new engine, trans, wheels and paint. The lil' 383 had some major issue and ended up spinning a rod bearing after just a few more runs. The fact that it ran 6.40's is amazing because the cam had wiped lobes, 2 rings were messed up during install which gouged the block and the head gaskets were leaking. It was just a big mess and all as a result of rushing to get it together. The new engine is being machined and assembled at Mann Performance. Its still a 383 but this time it has eagle rods, billet main caps and a slightly larger cam. The builder expects it to run low 9's but I'll be happy with 9.70's.
I have finished the new paint and have a few more hours of polishing before we can start putting it back together. Hopefully everyone appreciates the retro muscle-car theme inspired by the amazing art work of Bruce.
If the actual car looks like the pic then it's going to look killer Shaun, and should run great too.

Got a few more passes on the new combo yesterday. Had a great day - made it to 3 cars and ran 6.23 several times shifting at 5800. I think there is some more in there with a jet change and cranking up the shift point.
5800...you are leaving a bunch on the table.

For his "wifes" sake I am glad he shifted at 5800 for the first major weekend out. Track just wasnt completly there due to the cold and wind and he defintalty got lose several times going down the track. The car looks amazing and I am so proud of all the work and dedication he has put into the car since this entire thing started last September. Cant wait to finalize the template to get that 383 billboard on there. Glad to have it back to all mopar and get running in the Mopar races again. Hopefully get the Challenger out there and get some sweet shots of the cars sitting pretty next to each other! Meg
