I have a 1966 transition and a 1977 440. I found out after the fact that I needed to use the torque converter from the 1977 due to balancing issues. I really don’t remember which torque converter that I used since I put it in and it has sat for years.

I pulled the torque converter this afternoon and it is marked with the numbers "7062" or "7962" (I can’t make out the second number very well).

I can’t find any other marks on the torque converter. Is this enough information to identify the year of the torque converter?

I have a 1966 Chrysler Newport Convertible. I removed the original 383 and installed a 440 from a 1977 Chrysler Newyorker. I am not sure which torque converter I used. The 1977 440 would have a cast crank shaft.

Please see the attached picture of the harmonic balancer.

Thank you for your help.

There should be weights on either side of the drain plug . That pic is also a narrow ring gear low stall............ look for a wider ring gear(smaller converter. Most late 440's have the wider ring gear ( higher stall) converter in them.
