measure the depth of the old seal so you can drive the new one in to the same dimention and put some sealer on the ID of that recess so it'll be on the new seal when it's seated. EDIT If you dont have the driver that goes inside the seal pack the rear spring area with grease so the spring cannot pop off when it's driven in. get the seal started square & drive it in with as few strokes as possible (use a BFH) as each stroke increases the chance of distorting it.
