isn't there a tang that aligns with a slot on the cover?

It should pull straight off...probably stuck from paint/rust.

Twist it as you try to raise it up to unscrew it away from the valve cover, there a tight fit to start with

So I went shopping for a new PCV at the local shop and all showed the wrong one.So onto Yearone,,,$97.99..Are you ^**#@*&^ kidding me...Is this my only option or can I spray the heck out of the old one..The old one still rattles but is dirty..Don't know for sure if it has been replaced.I have had the car 10 years and I haven't...

shoot some carb cleaner through it and pop it back on. the rattle is the check ball which only allows one way airflow (out of the cover) and if it still rattles, it's good!

Or just get a cheap generic one, possibly with a new grommet to make it fit the valve cover. If it's not critical that it looks original...

If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

I cleaned a plastic pcv and a "HEMI" valve cover breather with carb cleaner last summer for my Duster. I pulled them off a set valve covers my father used to have on his car. They both had been sitting for a couple years and I had to put a lot of cleaner through the breather filter to get it clean (the pcv didnt take much). The pcv actually has a Pentastar logo on it. Any way, they are still functioning fine.
