After the bender, notcher, and welder, what other tools do you guys use most for chassis / roll cage fab?
Thanks
A couple more things you will need... a tubing inclinometer for setting up the rotational degees, a oscillating drum sander to fine tune the notches, a belt sander... thats about it

What's a "tubing inclinometer" look like? My google search only turned up sensors and such.
I go take a pic... but it slides over the tube then you tighten down the thumb screw so you can pul the tube out and turn the tube around and still be on the same plan... or if you want 2 legs the same angle like on the main hoop

in my opinion, this would be the best setup...I love fliptops...they're accurate and easy to use...I used a Greenlee setup for pipe in all different configurations for well over 40 years as an Electrician...I can't afford this one, but its the way to go http://www.pro-tools.com/product.aspx?zpid=342but, this is what I have and is a good setup..uses an air over hydraulic ram from Harbor Freight for $90 and the conversion for $110...I think the bender is a JD3 with a 1 5/8" shoe or die as they call it...I may have paid close to $600 for it...I dont remember cause it was about 12 years ago.. it too is a good bender but why I like the fliptops is because its easier to pull the pipe out and they are one shot benders...

I was looking at Jerry Bickel's chassis school class on his website, and that appears to be the one they are using. More than I want to spend though. Quote:
