Looks good Russ... nice and level... could use more air in the rears
Mike, I tried going up on the pressure and the 60s go away. I run 7.75 psi and that is where I get my best 60 foots.

How old are the tires... on mine I change pressures as the tire gets older to keep ABOUT the same 60'.. I run 7# on mine when new and drop it as they get older... new tires I get a 1.19 60' and when I get new tires its down to a 1.23-24

Since you say you have caltracs I thought it looks like you are hard on the tire, allot of body separation, What hole you have the bar in and what shock and setting do you have.

Yes, they're running Fri night, sat night and Sunday afternoon. Track hooks good and a very friendly bunch of people (racers and track crew).

That`s gettin it done .............another thing John Calvert said about tire pressure and distorting/wadding up was, doesn`t matter if it looks funky or wadded up if it works and his 4-speed car kills the tire but offers the best 60 ft. that way so he goes with it.

as someone that's worked with a lot of pressure indicating equipment over the years i can say for certain you need to be diligent with gauges. i'm anal about pressure and have precision digital test gauges (Crystal Engineering, Druck and Ashcroft) and test pump to verify other mechanical gauges. what is MOST important is the repeatability of the gauge. you should always use the same gauge on your car as opposed to different ones. also it's a general rule that gauges are not to be used above 75% of their rated capacity and DON'T peg them.
imho i found the longacre magnum series of gauges to be one of the better values

Russ I use 1/8# changes on mine( I up the pressure 1/8# to 1/4# from different tracks and age) the most I ever went was 1/2# total from my best running pressure

Like what you said quality gauges are a must... and like you said use YOUR gauge on YOUR tires... I was taught that you want a gauge that you are working in the 50% range for the best accuracy ... I use to take my gauges into work and calibrate them yearly but that doesnt happen anymore (retired) It always cracked me up when guys would use 100+# gauge to read 6#-7# fuel pressure and they thought they were accurate

Scatpack1, like Brian said they run Friday and Saturday night, gates open at 5:00, T&T at 6:00. Sunday Gates open at Noon.
Jake, I have to bars in the bottom hole, with about ス turn of preload on the right and one flat on the left. I adjust them one flat at a time until the car launches straight. Shocks are heavy duty NAPA shock. Yea I know adjustable are better but these work.
Jamsec, I only use my gauge to check tire pressure. There is just too much difference between gauges. I知 anal about tire pressure.
Mike I only change 1/8 psi at a time. I also check tire pressure before each pass. I normally pick up ス each pass the first couple passes, then maybe 1/8 as the tires stabilize, then after the sun goes down and the temperature drops late in the evening I have to start adding air.
Thumperdart, I agree it looks funky but it seems to be working.
