To be honest if I drive real easy and cruise the highway about 55 mph I can get about 10 out of my 63. Its a 493 with an 850 DP and I use a Dynamic 9.5 converter that will flash about 4200 at the track. Has 4.30's with a 30" tire. I still have alot of tuning to do but I do jet for mph and performance not for milage. But thats just me. I guess you could say I worry about milage some as I built it to be a pump gas eng as no way did I want to run race gas in my street car. That would take me broke. No joke. 10.7:1 CR w/Edelbrock heads. 4.10 gears, 28" tires... and a Keisler 5 speed w/ 0.64 OD. Cruised at like 2800 rpm IIRC. Ran low 13's at about 110 granny shifting. The key component was actually the 870 street avenger that I tuned to the edge using a wideband O2 and data logger (Innovate LM-1). Got about 9 mpg around town. I hit 18 mpg once or twice on some long flat highway runs. -Jim I can fix it... my old man is a television repairman. He's got the ultimate set of tools... I can fix it. Currently Mopar-less

It averaged 13mpg. 528 Hemi, 10.4-1 MP 614/598 solid cam, 10" TA convertor, 4.56 gears, 31" tall tires. I'd tuned the dual thermoquads so at cruise they were about 15.2-15.6 a/f ratio. The motor made 683ftlbs. of torque, very little throttle opening was required to keep it at 55-60mph.Dave

It would take discipline to stay out of it but if the reward is some trips down the track I think I would be willing. What was I thinking....

Most highway speeds aren't even enough to get me above the converter stall. DUDE, you DA MAN I'm calling No_Politics to give him the goods news on how to improve the fuel economy, drive faster so you get there quicker Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964.
