lewtot184 OP master L Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 3,916 usa	i've got a big issue with my 65 coronet. everytime i get on this thing in 1st gear it wants to pull to left, and i mean pull to the left! i steer into the pull and the car keeps drifting hard to the left. i literally tug on the wheel and the car won't even think about correcting. it's one voodoo child at WOT. i don't understand the problem at all. i've had this thing together for a few years and it's always been a leftie in 1st gear. now, this issue is with street tires but i've tried wide and skinny tires and the results are the same. i'm afraid to take this thing to test & tune because i don't won't an accident. i don't think the engine makes that much power, maybe 450-475hp. it has a stock street hemi suspension, car sits level, drives fine going down the road. anybody experience this?

MR_P_BODY Master Joined: Jun 2003 Posts: 52,972 Romeo MI	From what your saying is this only happens when you get on it... so I will assume it drives straight when your just rolling down the road... I would look at the rearend mounting... spring perches to see if the rearend is moving

383man Too Many Posts 3 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 27,421 Balt. Md	Yep I agree with Mr P. Sounds like soething is moving in the drivetrain when you nail it. Such as spring bushing or mounting bolts loose or missing. If its an auto you may see if you can get it on a drive on lift and then power brake it a little being real careful. That way you can be under the car just like it is on the road and maybe see something moving a bit when you power brake it. But again I stress be very careful if you do that. Ron

Won't take long to figure out then. Check your spring perches to see if they have deformed or if the axle is moving on the spring. 8..603 156 mph best, 2905 lbs 549, indy 572-13, alky

I'm not sure about this ... BUT maybe the posi is taking a dump.. but I'm not sure if only one tire would be slipping all the time..(I guessing that when you changed gears you used the same posi)

70dusterjohn top fuel Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 1,613 Deerfield, Ohio	I'd have to agree with the rear, but I would also check the motor mounts, as I had one go bad on a my Challenger and when I would jump on it, it would pull hard left ? under normall driving it was fine??? I look at anything, just go over the car with a wrench and check everything look for anything that maybe moving. If its that bad you will see signs of it somewhere.
