What are your opinions on these pistons quality and price? What benefits are there between the 2? Thanks for any replies.

They are both a high quality product..Seems like Diamond is a little easier to get things done.

When I set up my 416 I talked with Diamond.. I figured
I would be ordering custom pistons but they said
they could move the pin height on a shelf piston
for $35(for the set) and decrease the compression
for a few bucks more... that turned out to be much
cheaper... and they are both quality parts

I don't know if you are building a big block or small block but Wisco started offering some different on the shelf small block pistons late last year. They were offered to late to make this years catalog. Todd from Competition Wedge may be the person you want to talk to as he had a post about them last year and is a great guy to deal with.

F JE! I needed one piston and they said I would have to buy four for like 600 bucks. I complained a little and they said OK we will charge you for four and only finish machine 2 and throw the other 2 in the trash and that "option" was 400. I said you won't ship me the 4 they said "nope".

I ended up getting a guy from Veniola to drive over to JE pick up the piston and make ONE for like 125.00. Sounds like fiction but it is fact, this was just a few months ago.

I now know enough about JE to never deal with them again

If you really want a pleasant experience with a piston mfr, go with CP/Carrillo. They are the best, IMO. They are a permium product and are priced accordingly, but great customer service, knowledgable techs, reasonable lead times.

I pretty much use CP exclusively anymore unless we are doing something for a customer on a budget. I think CP is hard to beat when it comes to pistons.

You say "Veniola",,,I'm assuming you mean "Venolia" the piston manufacture.,.I didn't even think they were still in business.. haven't heard their name for a long time.. But, JE has always been that way, as long as I have dealt with them anyway, if you need 1, you buy 4. MAHLE piston is NOT that way. I have used some MAHLE pistons and was happy with them. Only problem being,,,I haven't used any Mopar stuff yet, just Chev and Cumminns.
I would imagine that MAHLE would have, or could make reasonably priced, about anything you want.

I really though most piston manufacturers that make custom piston have pretty much the same response....usually not the case with off the shelf pistons though.
