Thanks for the vivid description for those of us who couldn't be there--I'm sure Gary was pleased you and the others took time out to see him off-God bless!

I attended also and Stroked Hemi is right it was an awesome site. It was very emotional and inspiring at the same time. There is something really powerful going on amongst the members of this board and it showed today. I can't say enough about all of you.

Thanks for your story Stroked Hemi and thanks to the rest of the people who came out but also thanks to all the members of this board who make it what it is.

Nothing to add to what Mike said. It was pretty rough there. I gave all but one of my napkins I "borrowed" away and I'm glad I had it.

The line of cars was so long that the hurse was at the cemitary and the last mopar had not left the church.

It was video taped so be looking for one soon. John(onebad) has a lot on his plate right now so give him a week or so. Also whoever took pics if you could send them to John so that they can be added to the video that would be great. Also Pat can you send the audio to John?

It was very sad, I am still choked up about it. What I felt the last couple of day I can not put into words or even arrange in thoughts. Please keep Gary, Nikki their family and friends in your prayers.

Mike, As I spent the day at work, all I could do was think of the funeral, I had my moment of silence and prayer, and I spent the rest of the day thinking of Gary up in Heaven.
I want to thank you for taking the time to share the events as they happened, I for one, will visualize it over and over in my prayers this evening.
thank again,
Nick

The local Fox station at 5:00 showed the Mopars and interviewed Jack Irons and a Moparts member from Cleveland who was there in his Police uniform. Sorry but I didn't catch his name. It was a very impressive goodbye for Gary. I got the VCR setup to record it at 6:00 but they cut out the Mopars and interviews and just said Gary was a classic car lover.

I was standing with Rick Gorski, (SunroofGTX)DartGirl and JohnRR when the girl from Fox politely asked to interview us I don't remeber what I even said its all kind of a Blur, but I do know this everybody and I mean EVERYBODY knew today how much this Family (MOPARTS) meant to Gary it was stated during the funeral by his Chief, how much his wife, job and hobbie meant to him. I stood at attention and watched so many nice cars with even better people From Moparts and not from moparts drive into that cemetary I am so Proud to be a part of Moparts, we have a great thing here Thank You to whoever started it

Thank you very much Mike for the narrative, it's much appreciated by those of us who couldn't attend. Been thinking about it all day. I'm so glad the weather cooperated for everyone, especially for Gary's family.

We walked out in the end, walking through a corridor of hundreds of silent officers at guard outside, to the left and to the right, and then walking past Gary's Challenger. The allegiance of the officers was incredible, how they support one another, it exposed a new great respect for police officers, something we will never forget.

Yes, it is quite a experience. I've been to 8 officer funerals since I started in Law Enforcement and every one of them is so tough. But the show of support is such a great help, especially when the funeral has been for someone I knew. And for those I didn't know I go to show my support for his/her family and friends. I've seen officers from as far away as Washington State (I work in Los Angeles).....its an awe inspiring moment when you see that line of black and white's with the rotating lights miles long....it helps the family and friends know that they are not alone, they are in a big family.

It sounds as if Gary's funeral will go a long way in showing his family and friends the support they need so they can grieve
