I was under the impression v7x was hood paint treatment on 69. the stripe would be v5x only for the side.
The Hood treatment is V21 , The side stripe is V7* , V5* is the code for 1970 side moulding with a colored rubber insert.

R4 in Dodge speak is "bright red" (introduced in spring '68 on Charger ONLY - paint code 3).
R4 in Plymouth speak is "performance red" & I've seen MOPAR reference to the "Barracuda red/orange" but not sure where.
Could it be the PPG chart posted above you?

wow- so it was called barracuda orange-different to fe5 red? i got the same ppg color charts and it does say barracuda orange but i thought it was just ppg calling it that. i`m sure ppg was the original paint supplier for chrysler-yes?
You have 2 different colors , the paint chart above is for 1969 and any paint color that originated for the 69 model year would begin with an E , FE5 red was a 1970 model year color and would be a different from a 69 color or else they would have just kept the original paint code .

Think Ditzler was by Dupont?
No, PPG paint was formerly Ditzler. DuPont was & is a different company that also manufactures paint.
