I'm looking to spent around 4,500.00 on the build

With that budget I hope you already own most of the parts !!! Good luck !

or he can do what I did and buy one done from a Moparts member.... I got mine for much less than $4500 thanks Gumbydammit
Really $4500 isn't going to buy you much if you use all new parts and have to pay for the machine work. Look around you can find good deals on long and short blocks.

so I want to use the 6 pack set up and the 906 Heads .............the original exhuast manifolds

Maybe we forgot his original intentions.............

$4500 for a shortblock and freshened heads doesn't sound to unrealistic.

Thanks for the imput guys. I already have a set of 906 ready to go. But that dosent mean I want change my mind Ron, I'm looking to spent around 4,500.00 on the build.. would like to get the best bang for buck..

Explain 906's ready to go , you are going to be hard pressed to meet your goals on that budget especially if you want to do this now . If you want to hunt for bargins and keep to the budget get back to us in a year or 2 when you have gathered the parts .

Dean he's going to be hard pressed to do it with his budget and build constraints, many of those telling him he can do it have aftermarket heads or compression a lot higher than he wants to run.

The question I have is will the car be driven from where he lives to the track or a trailer poodle given steep gears and a big cam ?

Lastly this is about a 70 6pk runner and he keeps putting up pictures of a 68 GTX ???
