I have a 2002 neon R/T and it needed new struts. I put new monroe struts on it, went ahead and changed all 4. I used the loaded strut in the front and just changed the strut cartrige in the rear, and now the car handles the bumps much better but the front of the car is setting way to high! Is there a ride height adjustment? I am planing on changing the lower control arms also and then taking it to have it lined up but dont want to spend the money on the alinement if my ride height is wrong! I am almost tempted to pull the struts and swap the old spring on to the new struts in the front and see were that puts it! does anyone have any sugestions?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Springs settle with age. The stance of the car was OK before you replaced the struts because all four springs had settled approximately the same amount. You should have either reused all four springs (replaced only the strut cartridges) or replaced all four strut assemblies with loaded ones. Don't mix new and old springs.

Set it next to another neon to compare.I read awhile back that the factory had it just about right on ride height, that lowering sometimes wasn't the best thing.

Being that it's a Neon R/T it might of came slightly lowered from the factory for handling purposes. I'd go back to the original springs if it were mine.

I have changed a butt-load of rear cartridges on the 1st Gens. For some reason, the rears usually died 'way before the fronts. Anyway, the new cartridges made the rear set so high that the rear wheels actually tucked in a noticeable amount. And that was using the original springs.

I would certainly wait awhile before I aligned it. It may be the new springs or it may be the new strut. It might settle down a little over time.

Master, again and still

Sorry no pics! the rear struts didnt change the ride height very much it at all! the front raised it quite a bit! Looks like the car is launching hard all the time! I pushed down on the front end and it seams very stiff! So I'm going to pull the struts and replace the springs with the originals and see where that puts me should only take me an hour or so! hopfully that gets me back to where I should be! thanks for all of the input everyone! I never really gave it any thought I've dones this before on other cars and had zero issues until this neon!
