NHRA rule book says 10.99 and quicker. I'd say you need one by the rules and more importantly your safety. I have a CSR on my A body, it was a bolt up deal.

the csr shield is tough on some application, some guys throw them on ,others , have to cut n beat! If your motor is pulled back any , it will have to have some floor work done for a csr, maybe even a blanket! we put one in the 67 coronet and it was a major deal , we had to cut , move almost the whole area under the console! still hit the cross-member Good luck, as for the et, you should already be there!

A CSR is one of the most miserable jobs I have done on my car. Granted I have the engine centered in the bay on my car, but a with a stock location, you will still have to cut out the trans tunnel flange underneath and make special tools to get the engine/trans bolts out.

yes, a blanket is legal. probably a whole lot easier to install in ur application from what u stated earlier. good luck. seeya.
If your tunnel is stock forget the shield and get a blanket. Even then you'll have to lower the rear cross member to install. Want to make a shield fit in an early B-Body? Here's how. Doug

We have the CSR shield on our car and the tunnel was cut about half as much as DVW. The engine is set back about an inch and the pinch weld is flattened, but you still have to cut the floor.
If you install it, drill some holes in the firewall (and plug them) for the top two trans bolts or you will never get them out with the shield on.
