Double bummer! I really like that car and was hoping it was going to put a whooping on the other brands!
I hate pressure also and probably would have done the same thing under the circumstances.

DJ, I think it quite funny actually to read how some of the guys will shoot their yaps off on how they think your problem is so simple. I for one commend you for just doing the build to attempt drag week. The level of your build is quite frankly a monumental task when you don't have a bottomless barrel full of cash and then to actually do drag week. I congratulate you on a beautiful and badazz car that you built and it is unfortunate that you will not be able to go. I also commend all the other participants doing drag week and to all the ones that had to cancel it is also unfortunate for them and it is their business why. To all that are still able to go.... I hope you enjoy yourself and will share the experience with the rest of us. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I have to agree. I can understand the man wanting the car to the best it can be to go to DW. Why take a chance getting in a hurry and doing something that could risk the entire engine? I would want it perfect in my mind as well, because if it isn't, someone is going to talk about that as well. You gotta love all the people telling you what to do with your car.

Eddie wasnt run off... he got the boot.... as for DJ,
I can totally understand that he wanted it right before
leaving... this is suppose to be fun... and working
on the side of the road isnt what I call fun....
Me and my buddy are headed to BG tomorrow morning..
I'm riding 2nd seat again with him in his 52 ford PU...
I fired up The Rampage today with the W-2 heads and
intake on it... I need to get it out to do a little
testing to see if the oil problem is gone but I have
high hopes for it.... I finished working on my truck
and trailer so I can pull my buddies truck down there
and its all set now

No... I'm hauling him down to BG with my rig... its
a 43' trailer.... but you can use a trailer on DW..
but it has to be within the limits.. 12 long from the
ball to the rear and no taller than 7' with anything
on the top(7' total height)

DJ, even if you never compete in Drag Week, your car will forever be dubbed "Drag Week Duster". I hope you get the car sorted out and get to enjoy it for yourself. Now might be a good time to upgrade to some bigger cylinder heads... hint hint...

Please do keep us updated on the progress of your car. It is a beauty.

Machine work finished and heading to the motor man. Hopefully this thing can shorten the gap between my heavy car and those feather lights....

DJ very nice. Whats the coating on the pistons?

Will you make a run at "The List" in OKC?

Keep us informed on your progress.

It is a ceramic coating. It will help with the heat as I will be dumping allot of boost and gas in those chambers. As for "The List", not a fan of allot of power out of my car just to get down the road. But anything can be possible after I start getting the ET's I think my car is capable of...

Any new info on this deal?? Looked like a killer ride just curious if he is still shooting to give drag week a shot or not.

Also maybe it will get people to talk about something else than beating that dead horse that is seat belt expiration

Way to go Al...
Maybe I should bring my Drag Week Valiant thread up to date too?

I pride myself in the fact that I have not, nor will I ever, click on that thread about the seat belts!!

What's the deal with Jay? Understand that he had a clandestine test session down here in Phoenix with the W-8, but not a peep on Moparts?
