Id like to find out if 72 Demons ever came from the factory with the V21 hood paint any other color than flat Black ?. Ive read that they were all flat black but ive seen original cars with a matte Black finish and i own a original V21 hood stripe, J54 sport hood car and the hood paint is White. The original owner of my car had the hood stripe and scoop painted White at the dealership before he took delivery so its going to stay White but i have seen other 72 Demons with White hood and scoop paint and they look original ??, does anyone know ?, thanks Moparts for the postiing.

Your thinking of 70-71 style scoops found on 70 340 Dart Swingers, 71 340 Demons and 70 Coronet RTs & Superbees, the J54 sport hood scoop in 72 didnt have bezels !!.

This is all original Black paint,the White hood paint is badly sun baked from the Arizona sun and it looks like it was applied when new !!.

V21 was always black, no matter what year or car model.

That said, there were other hood stripes that did come in other colors. I'm thinking specifically the 340 Wedge decal which was white, the '70 Charger engine callouts (V24). Also the hood stripes on Sport Fury GTs which came in white and orange as well as black. These hood stripes weren't coded they matched the side strobe stripes which were coded. Note, that these were also all decals, not paint.

Some applications of V21 were painted, and others were decals, but they were always black.

So was the Sizzler-style hood stripe V21? If so, then it was black. If not, then it could be other colors I suppose, especially if it was a decal. I really don't know much about A-Bodies.
