I couldn't find a pump locally that would accept 3/8 line, so I left the stock pump on it, and stepped the 3/8 line down to 5/16 before the pump.

On our circle track 360 I drilled out both 5/16" fittings & soldered in 3/8" ones. class rules only allow stock fuel pump so that was my solution.

Crud in the tank could be it. I had that happen to me before. As far as your parts combo it is almost exactly what I have in my 71 Satellite. With 3:23 gears and much more weight mine runs 8.70s to 8.80s in the heat in the 1/8th so yours should be able to outrun mine with good traction.
