I was recently DQed at Indy trying to run the Hemi Shootout. It really did not matter as I was not fast. I do have 4 1/4"-20 allen bolts visable on the outside of the head as a valvetrain saftey measure and my NHRA letter cited "No external modifications to the head". So I am removing them and acknowledge my mistake as they are visable. NHRA will allow me to pass tech at next race and all is well.

I now have a better idea. My question before I do it, is can I mill the intake runner past the top of the valve cover bolt holes, and use the bottom remaining threads to hold an adapter plate so I can put the valve cover back on so it will seal? This will allow me to open the intake runner up. Of course I will have to hike up the intake as well. Will these spacers be perceived as an "external modification" since it seems I am already the "bad boy" of Hemi. I just hate to do all this work and not pass. Thanks in advance for your advice. Stephen

Are any of the SS/AH cars running oil contianment diapers or belly pans? If so i would love to see photo's if possible. Trying to figure out how to come up with something effective for my NSS car. I noticed looking at pics of the new cars this year some guys have the headers dumping out towards the side of the car. Is there a reason for this? just wondering if it helps in adding a belly pan, or is it for some other reason?

thanks for any input.

Carbs & intake look a tad bit illegal for this thread

Frito saw this at "THE BARN" a couple of weeks ago while attending Monster Mopar Weekend at Indy. The tech guy said some cajun tried to say a 68 Cuda orginally came with carb bonnets. The N2O bottle was found wrapped in a camo blanket and the valve cover looked liked it was equipped with a spacer. ???????????
