congrats lil joe

we are going to put out a missing persons on one "bucky hess" soon if he isnt sighted...

the accusations are somewhat derived from what kind and how many peanuts some are feeding their elephants,,, or how far you can cut them back..... and to what degree.......

Here is a pic of my engine, with the flange that is broken. It was said by some that I had my intake bolted to an adapter at indy. Clearly it isnt. I sent similar pics to NHRA 5 mins ago at their request, because I have nothing to hide.
As far as me not going to the grove, we felt that this deal needs to get handled by NHRA, which I am certain it will based on recent conversations with them.
We were not afraid to go there because of possible protest. I was prepared to protest the whole Barton team if it was nessasary. 300.00 per car isnt much money, and you get it back if they are illegal anyways.
It is my resposibility to my customers to provide them with the latest, best parts. When I heard this was being done, I asked if it was legal, I got a flat "NO!" so I asked why can others do it.
That was last December. It has taken till now to get anything done.
The part that upsets me is the typical response when someone is caught cheating. "well, HE is doing this (fill in the blank)" "We have been doing this for .... years".
I dont really care what anyone thinks, It is my job to run my business, and provide componants that are able to win, and that is what I will continue to do.

Something else I heard that was a joke, "we get torn down all the time, they never said anything"
When was the last time someone other than me or my dad has been torn down? We have won every teardown race for the last 2 years, Daniels won indy 3 years ago, or it would be at least 3 years.

CW, can you post the picture without the writing, and point out the broken flange, for us old farts - also, I suspect the area that is white, is something you do not want us to see. I appreciate that. But how about a peek :-)-- Anyone that is as dominate as you, are gonna get bad mouthed all the time for any reason. Are you coming to South Georgia this year ?

you cant see the broken flange?
Its on the left under the text that says its broken.
That was the point of the text. Apparently it wasnt very effective.

Stewart, Check out the green, which is the bottom of the intake. You can then tell where the head is broken.

Stupid question: Why wouldn’t you just fix the head?

ALso, we have run our bracket hemi’s sometimes without even using the valve cover to head bolts. We would just double the o-rings on the spark plug tubes and the oem valve covers would seal just fine. Heck since the flange is missing at the top you could probably just overlap a thick gasket, cover it with silicon and it would probably seal.

Although the Shootout was missing too many top cars, the Westcotts, Perkins and Bucky, Congratulations to Little Joe on his well deserved victory, great driver and great car.

i see that NHRA clarified the rules on cylinder heads for stock & superstock just wondering if this clears up what you are allowed to do legally to hemi heads i know there was a lot of discussion a while back
