I've got a 74 Challenger bracket car (mid to high 11's) with super stock springs. I'm moving the springs in to tuck the wheels into the body and I noticed the rubber spring eye bushings were worn. Should I get new rubber bushings or upgrade to solid or poly bushings? The shackle bushings are poly, but I never bothered to change the bushings that came with the super stock springs.

Thanks. I see Mancini has solid bushings for about half the cost of the MP ones. Any experience with these?

Alloy ones with steel inserts are fine even on the street. Just a tiny bit harder on the ride, but then again New York streets are hard in any ride. Car will launch much better.

I have the Cal-Trac bushings in my 69 Bee street/strip car. They work fine, but as said the ride is a little harsh.

I'm doing this on my 73, the question I have is the steel liner is about 1/8 longer that the aluminum bushing which lets the front spring eye slide side to side a bit, would it be a good idea to insert a rubber washer/oring on each side to take up the play and still allow movement? or just leave it as is?

What have you guys done?
not meant to hijack just thought the op might have the q after installing too.

Thanks.

i had the mancini bushings, they pushed in by hand. that was the first turnoff. the sleeve was about as thick as a piece of emt conduit, the aluminum had no shoulder to lock the spring in place. the springs could slide back and forth in between the spring hanger. dont bother with there aluminum shackle bushings. they are made for a3/8 bolt to go through like those old shackles with a million holes in them. they arent big enough for the shoulder on the stock shackle. i still have the set sitting in my basement. they told me i could have a refund if i paid shipping back to them.
check out the afco front eye bushings, dirt cheap and hard as a rock. they are delrin or nylon i forget.

Has anybody else tried the AFCO bushings? I looked at their website and found part number 20229N. Anybody know if these are correct for the Super Stock springs?
