If most car pick up with smaller tires with todays technology, Why dont they make rules based on CI, Weight, suspension (leafs, ladder, 4 link and front suspension)or power adder???The rules is mostly tires!

Tires level the playing field better in most cases. Helps keep the cubic dollar guys from running away with the class.

You need to watch a 275 or outlaw 10.5 race cause they don't seem to be LIMITED by the tire

The small tire makes it more of a tuners race. Makes the racer race smart rather than just throwing money at it. Texas has it's share of small tire cars. Although not many Mopar. I watched your car run at Kentucky.

Guess so at a marginal track, however at the big events with excellent track prep it still seems the cubic dollar is best...
I couldn't quite get a bite with the mt's at Kentucky wish I would've been on he hoosiers man what a difference...I had a best 60 of 1.28 on the mt but the Hoosier 275's went 1.22 on same settings and don't bust loose near as often.

The outcome of Kentucky would've remained the same the NO2 monster had me covered

It's not a perfect formula by any means but it is one that can be easily teched and the tire is only going to hold so much hp for all envolved.

Can't say I agree....have been to quite a few 10.5 races and there are always cars blowing the tires off regardless of track prep.....most I know play it safe to get in the show & then the real tuning begins once eliminations start to get paired evenly.....love to watch these guys get their cars down the track

I do believe the tire size makes it a more even playing field.....although $$$$$ certainly helps to keep up with the ever growing technology

Love your car by the way

Rickster

They are impressive to watch. At the SCSN in Vegas I watched a car run 5.30 in the 1/8th on a 26X8-15 MT ET Drag! That's pretty impressive. Even more impressive was watching a car run a 9.33 @ 154 on a 255-60-15 treaded street radial! Not a drag radail or ET Street, but a treaded street tire. Very impressive!

I've seen 10.5" west coast cars go deep in the 7s 12-15 years ago. Everytime I've been to a small tire race I see 100+K tow rigs and 95% of the cars have close to or 100k in them.

It really is just mini pro mod racing and I love it.

To much horsepower for whatever the race median is makes it better.

Pro street ie pat musi days was cool for that reason

Promod used to be cool when they could barly get down the track.

Now outlaw 10.5 is getting to that same point.

Once a class of racing becomes to predictable it's no longer contain that on the edge cool factor.

Now we have guys going 239mph on a 29.5 x10.5 tire and he is 83 years old. That shitt is cool.

Guys running low 7s on a 275 that's crazy.

Look at it, from then till now horsepower has doubled at a minimum and tire Size went from steam rolling 17" wide to to 10" and smaller.

And I don't think it's done. Give it another few years max and people will be wearing x255 shirts and 7" ttfmer
