Good question,T-Boom! I'd like to see some dyno-testing results....preferably on a .040 over 440 with cnc-ported Eddy Performer RPM's..M-1 intake..950 Holley..solid flat tappet cam with 260 duration @ .050,.600-.620 lift,and 2"x 3.5"collector headers!

Hi,Randy! The reason I ask is they are not cheap! My current setup is a Mr.G 4500 to 4150 intake on a Victor...My spacer is 2"....

Just like every other spacer, it depends on the combination as to whether they show an improvement.

Yes it is just trial and error to see if it works for your setup. I had a wilson tappered spacer on my old motor (4150) and it would pick up .05.

I also looked into the Wilson 1 1/2" 4500 to 4150 intake spacer...I n reality it would be nice to test both! However...Money says I can only try one!

Most published dyno results show an improvement greater than testing error.

We tested a 2" one at the end of the season on the 512RB and no change in ET or 60ft, mph, nada. For the record though, we only run a 950 carb, and the intake has a fairly large plenum. I look forward to testing it on my 408 stroker next season. That intake has a small plenum, and I suspect it will pick-up.

I have just bought an alloy 2" supersucker for $60 new off RJ. I intend to try it first meet out next year but will swap at the track and jet to see what it likes, 2 engine guys on here highly recommended them, one being Dwayne.
Randy my set up is very similar to yours engine wise.

I plan to back to back a 2" HVH on my 414 with a ported Victor 340 and Stage 2 Shady Dell E heads in the early spring. As said it's trial and error, I think it might have been Joe Sherman that tested one that picked up Hp, and when he was taking it off he discovered he installed it upside-down.

2" super sicker spacer 572 B1 picked up 16HP on the dyno. Thet's the only real dyno info I have.

Maybe Quick D100 of Dave's performance will chime in. On Dave's Dyno
My 512 made only 4 more hp but 20 more ft. lbs. tq. with the 2" super sucker.

Ted,
I have one of Wilson's 1 1/2" adapters if you want to try it,it is just an open spacer/adapter,if that is what you are looking at.
I also have one of the 2" Moroso(I believe) adapters, just let me know.

Carb spacers almost always pick up power on the dyno. I run a custom built 4 inch carb spacer on the bigger motors on the dyno just for that reason.

They sometimes don't work quite as well on a car unless the accel pump is reworked for additional volume.

Trial and error is the only way to find out.

2" Dominator to 4150 adapter did nothing for me. The HVH one that is, I went back to the Moroso open adapter.

A 1" HVH was worth about a tenth and 1 mph on my old 446" Indy SR headed combo. That motor had a Team G manifold and a 1050 dominator on it.
Didn't gain anything on my hemi w/ the Ray Barton manifold. Haven't tried it yet on the Indy manifold.

I don't know about the HVH but I think it's close to the APD Black Widow spacer I have.

Scott has one as a Dyno Mule spacer and we tried it out during one of the builds and it showed a pretty good increase in both HP and TQ.

Enough to where I saved up the money to get one of my own.

I don't have any hard dyno numbers, but it did seem quicker by the seat of the pants test, lol,
Throttle response seemed better, and I had to jet up a bit,,,
I would try and borrow one if possible,,,,,

On my friends 360, a 2" HVH Super Sucker spacer picked up 10ft/lbs across the power range. It also cleaned up the idle and the engine through the rev range.
It was a baic 360, factory heads, Edelbrock Air Gap, Flat tappet cam etc.

Years ago when I built the 465 for my charger we got the best power with a 1" hvh on top of a 1" open spacer on my street dominator intake.Granted it was a 525hp street motor but this combo bested every other combo we tried.

and like any spacer you will most likely have to rejet to get all it has to offer.

Not trying to hijack, but if you had to pick 3 spacers to bring with you to the dyno what would they be?
