Poly,
From your post it sounds like a single 4 manifold, although Rickster's description sounds otherwise. Picture would help, but if its a single Max-Wedge port, it's probably an early NASCAR manifold, there were two styles that I'm aware of, both were cast with an integral valley pan, the last one was cast with an open area between the runners and valley to keep the heat off the carb and raise the runners more in line with a hi-rise 427 Ferd Nascar head. The earlier version had flatter runners. I had one of each back in the day, my dad ran a Stg III in a late model modified, they were great manifolds at the time, not sure how they would compare today with what is now available, but still wish I had hung on to them...

It is a single four, it was originally a dual plane, but someone has cut alot of the divider out of it, my other car is an automatic with crossram, was hoping that the one I am building B-body 440 maxwedge heads 4-speed car will be a little more street friendly with the single 4

Are you sure it isn't like the one in this thread?

What carb flange does it have?

Not sure on the flange, I beleive that someone has opened up the flange area, but no it is not like that one, this has valley pan made on it, and an air gap betwen plenums and valley

It sounds like you've got the one I described above. The picture is of the earlier flat runner design, considering what was available at the time, either manifolds were good but the one you're describing had longer, more direct runners than the earlier version. Either way, you've got a pretty rare piece that should be way more street friendly than the cross ram.....enjoy....

Cool,,, thank you, I would still like to see a pic of a stock one, as I had stated earlier it appears that some one has done some hacking on this one, I am assuming that it originally had a square bore flange on it, mine is opened up so as to appear as one big opening with part of the division barier removed so as is not a true dual plane anymore,,,,,hopefully they have not totally ruined it's flow

Good Morning,

I located an article that shows some pics of that particular later style (better IMO) manifold with the built in valley tray. It is over 7MB so I would have to email it to you. Also, I will stop in and see if that '63 Hotrod is still hanging around and snap some pictures of it. IIRC it had some engineering diagrams from Dragmaster.

PM me your email and I can send you what I have.
