Whats the minimal tube size for this? A seat has never been mounted and there isnt much there besides the rocker bar, and the driver side frame rail which is 2x3 boxed tubing...
Either one of these is ok for driver side mount for the chair... Whats the minimal size square tubing I can use?
Whats the rule book say?
Thanks

Bob, I dont think there is a restriction on this. A lot of seats are just mounted with zues tabs...they rely on the belts to hold you in

I was actually thinking about using some 1"x1" box tubing... Seem's I recall a 3/8 diameter bolt, but that also might be belt sizes also...

I believe there is a spec of 3/8 bolts... on my diagonal
bars I came across to the side bars and longitudinal
with the same diameter as the diagonal bars(1 1/8"
I believe) then welded a 1/4" plate with a 90* bend
in it... thats what my seat actually mounts on... if you
look closely where the seat would mount you can
see the spacer to raise the front of my seat
(hard to see being black but you can)

6:2 UPHOLSTERY, SEATS
The driver’s seat of any car in competition must be constructed, braced, mounted, and upholstered to provide full back and shoulder support. The driver’s seat must be supported on the bottom and back by the frame or crossmember. Except as noted in SFI Specifications, seats must be bolted with four bolts (and nuts and washers) on the bottom and one bolt in the rear into crossbar; all bolts must go into frame or crossbraces. Ball-lock pins for seat attachment prohibited in all classes.

I do not see any minimum size requirement for a seat cross bar but there must be at least 5 mounting points (4 at the bottom and 1 to the crossbar).
