on my 580" with 572-13 heads, all of my inner springs broke. some into 3-4 pieces. i have the jessel set up. i only have about 500 miles on them as this is a street car.
the springs i use now are k motion 1000h,s. is there a better spring? i have heard that the k motion springs would break eventually. it is a solid roller with 1.7 rockers. the cam specs:
.800"/.750" 282/290 @.050.
the k motion 1000h specs:
1.625"
265# @2.00"
790# @1.250"
i would need something close to the same specs. i will be changing them with the heads still on. this is a street car, so reliabilty is the main concern. thanks...

should i use a circle track {endurance) spring? where is the best place to get them? i guess they would help me with my applacation?

Pacaloy... 1224 is what you need... I have run them on a similar wedge with similar specs, and a 572 hemi also.... Springs pressure is what you need, and they are 1.625 too.... They are twice the spring those old K motion's are. Isky sells them reboxed too...

Do you know how close you where to coil bind? It looks like they wanted .750 lift max with those specs   Give them a call to make sure I just check some 1.550 PACS that I bought for a project, around twenty dyno pulls and warming the motor up several times, no loss of pressure at all 290 lbs. on the seat and close to 800 lbs opened at .700 lift That is .060 from coil bind  I didn't check all the valve lifts at the retainers when I assemble that motor, I only checked the passenger side with these springs so I'm going to check the dirvers side as soon as I put that head back on. I had a leaky(6to7%) exhaust valve on the after dyno leak down test  It turned out that it had a slight bit of rust on that valve seat, I removed it with scotchbrite and it sealed right up  Lucky me  I had to haul the motor 50 miles to the dyno in the back of my pickup and back in very humid, cold weather. I used paper towels and duct tape to seal the exhaust up but stuff happens any ways BTW, I'm impressed with those PAC springs

cab, those springs are good to .850" lift. they coilbind at 1.090. i'm not even close. i think i just need a better quality spring. i will call pac on monday and see what they say.

I did think that was a pretty hefty cam for a street car. Guess it depends on the definition of a street car...
that cam is not heafty for a 580 cubic inch motor. it idles at 900 rpm,s. it can be lugged in traffic, stop and go and in 100 degree heat without any problems. the only thing that sucks is, $ 8.00 gal race gas, and changing valve springs every year. other than those two things, it,s an awesome street car....

I wasn't knocking it, just a bigger number than you normally associate with a street cam. That large a motor, sure probably does a great job. Have fun with it.

IMO I think the 1.7 rockers are doing more damage than good.
