With the old 446".I didn't run an alternator. It was a pain charging between rounds. I put one on and wish I would have done it sooner! I am a believer in the fact that a fully charged battery is best for the MSD ignition. Don...I have a Mezeire water pump. I like that better than the old Moroso, seems to cool quicker! Mick...I looked at the HVH site, they dont' make anything to adapt my Dommy to my 4150 Victor intake...

The end is near.....

I agree with the electronics a fully charged battery is best. I only meant to turn off the field just before a pass and then turn it right back on after the traps. But as Mr P_Body said he did not gain anything. I gained a few hundreths when I did it years ago. Ron

I hear what you are saying,Ron! I also did some research and did find out that HVH makes a 4500 to a 4150 intake adapter. But it is 2" and won't help my clearance woes. And it is 166.00!! Wilson makes a 1 1/2" open adapter for 133.00..I might look into that one..

Not sure how much a kill switch would save you. how mauch h/p does it take to turn the alt when it's charging? 2..3 maybe. Anybody have any real world times? On my old 67 coronet I tried a few things. I disco'd the PS belt..nadda zip, Tossed a Alt belt at the line and still ran dead on 12.90, replced my HEAVY 45lb 15" Cragars w/ 14x5's and bais plys up fron...nadda 12.90. Went w/ Man steering...nadda 12.90. Now then I added 6psi of boost and dropped almost a second off the et and picked up 10mph

Really will make a difference on how the tune up is
when you start making these changes... some of those
changes should have made a ET change but if the tune
up was wrong then it wouldnt show a change... I use
to tune it to the best I could get, then tune it to
the new change(again the best I could get) then switch
back to see what would happen......I'm a firm believer
in A-B-A changes/checks...... JMO

I agree Mike, thought the same thing. If you're taking a hundred pounds off of a car and see no changes, somethings not right. There is nothing more constant than weight to horsepower.
