Just swapped out a power steering box for a manual unit. I purchased the needed adapter,as well. With the box mounted,shouldn't BOTH shafts be in alignment? Mine is off,as seen in this picture! Thanks!

I think if you loosen up the steering column at the firewall there should be enough play in it to line it up.
Give it a try, let me know if that works.

I know Jeff wants me to pick up my heads..and manifold,which he milled to compensate for the .055-.060 cut on the heads..on Saturday. Thanks for taking the time to fix that tooth..Dr.P-Body!
