Does the small hex end of the line lock solenoid fit into the aluminm bracket?

I used to care but....... things have changed

I was thinking maybe the switch clamped into the bracket and you were suppose drill 2 holes in your shifter to mount it. Also , I have never seen a switch that looked like that, but if it works , OK. , I've got a Hurst thats over 40 years old and never had a problem, just taped it on the shifter with electrical tape, things were more simple back then. I have replaced the tape a few times though.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

That is what I thought it's intention was.

How is the solenoid mounted?

Interesting,

That bracket is not for the switch, its for the line lock solenoid. Look at the hex shape at the end of the solenoid, that will fit right in the bracket so you can mount it. Without that bracket tell us how the solenoid will be mounted?

I'm the first in line to say it's a wacky and confusing setup- nobody here could guess the right answer! I did finally get a response from moroso tech so why are you second guessing them? They designed this 'brilliant' setup!

To answer your questions:

The diamond shaped cutout in the clamping area of the bracket is not big enough to fit the hex shaped lug on the solenoid. The hex on the solenoid is much too big it will not fit in there. It is for clamping the bracket to a round shifter. The solenoid is attached to my inner fender below the m/c and above the prop valve. It has two sheet metal tabs with pre-drilled holes. The holes are spaced differently from the bracket holes.
