No posi's here just an occaisional sure grip. Car in neutral, jack 1 wheel just off the ground & bear hug it & if it turns forward easily it is not a sure grip. If it turns a bit with alot of grunt then it is a sure grip & confirms you are in neutral & roughly confirms how tight the sure grip clutches are

Chrysler called all of them "sure grip". There were two types - cone and clutch. Generally early ones were clutch type and later ones were cone type... although past parts swapping could change that. I don't know a good way to tell short of pulling the pig.

Credit goes to Chevrolet for coming up with a brand name that rolls off of the tongue so easily. NO other limited slip differential name is as easy to say or as identifiable as Posi-Traction.
Sure Grip
Traction Lok
Twin Grip
Anti Spin
Detroit Locker
Saf-T-Track..... They all are correct factory brand names.

Yup. That or if you have the car up on the hoist and in neutral, with a suregrip both tires will spin the same way when you turn one tire by hand. With an open diff, one will spin backwards.
