When I called them about buying the adapter they told me around $700 PLUS my old one which I balked at. They did offer me a deal that I should jump at which was for me to send them my complete unit and they would exchange it for a complete re-man for $1200. The one I have is off a 700R4 and I have $250 in it.
To use the shorty adapter you will need to either have a short truck trans or change the output shaft to a short one. If and when I finally pull the trigger on the one I have, I will be going with the shorty. It should make for much a better driveline angle.

I went with a 518 trans, which if you run a SB it bolts right up... it offers a greater OD ratio than the GV ... the 518 is a .69 OD... and if you wanted to stay with the stock 518 torque converter you can have lock up also... I eliminated the lock up in favor of a high stall converter so I had to change the front pump and input shaft to fit a regular 727 converter.. my total price is maybe $650 for everything... I bought the trans from the bone yard and rebuilt it and replaced the pump for that $650... vs $2900+ for the GV

Update: This tranny is made by Hi-Tech transmissions in Farminton Hill, Mich. Guys name is Tim Kohalisky, I talked with his son on the phone last week. He has a prototype but as yet is not in the test vehicle, took 6 years to design. Price goal is 2K. He is looking for machine shops to mass produce parts at present. Story is in Jan 2012 Mopars Collectors Guide, page 14, or call him 248-473-5800.

Yes...or at the least have the existing one shortened and a new end put on it to accept the GM u joint to fit the GM slip yoke.
