As much fun as it is playing with the cars, one of the great by-products of this hobby is the great people you meet in your journies to shows, cruises or the track. Like many others who have written, Gary was the first Moparts member I met in person when I stopped by his car at the Nats a couple of years ago. Moparts couldn't ask for a better goodwill ambassador. We bumped into each other at various other shows and stuff and he always made a point of introducing everyone around. He was a super solid guy who never had a bad thing to say about anyone and was always willing to help. When Mike was having shifter problems on Woodward last August, Gary offered up his truck and trailer if required without blinking an eye. Just an example of the type of good guy he was. My condolences to his family. He will be missed by many.

My prayers go out to him and his family.

I met Gary a couple years ago at the Norwalk Chysler Classic, and every year since then got together with him at that event and shared pit spots, bar-b-que, and great company. I also got to talk with him at the Milan, MI Classic last year.

He was truely an outstanding man. He served his community as an officer, he served the Moparts.com community as a moderator, and he always was willing to help others. He will be missed.

Wow,I just parked the truck in the drive AND hopped on board, here at MOPARTS,I sure didn't expect to read something, like THIS.
Gary, the man,the family man,the police officer, the friend, the help,on any thing you asked for man,the MOPAR fanatic,as many of Us are,YOU sure as hell will be missed,by everyone, who ever met you.
My thoughts and prayers go out, to your family, and all your friends and fellow Officers.
I 1st met Gary at the Nats last year, taking up the collection, for Sherman Lewis's accident at Milan. Then again at the Norwalk Chrysler Classic, what Fun, we had.
Gary was the PRIME EXAMPLE,of the friend you could find here on Moparts. Also a good sample of the guys from the Detroit Area,as I met several,of them last year.
I was hoping,to make it to the Moparty, this year.

Gary RIP

I never met the man but he touched so many people. In his job and in his hobby. Seems like he ate, drank and slept Mopars. A good man. My heart truly goes out to his family. May he rest in peace. This place will truly not be the same without him.

I can't think of anything that hasn't already been said. I too have never met Gary, but I feel like I lost a friend or family member. Some how my car doesn't seem important to me today. This board, and the world will never be the same. We lost one of the good ones.

That just plain sucks. Gary was a real asset to the Mopar Community and he will be missed for a very long time to come. I did not know him personally, but as has been said, he was always willing to help out, never had a negative comment about anyone that I can remember and he had a great sense of humor. He was, and is, an example to us all.

My sincere condolences to his family, friends and brothers on the force, we all lost a pal today.

OMG is what I said when I saw this. Like alot of you, I did not know him personally, only from here but I still felt like I knew him!!!

My thoughts are with his family. I got out of Ironworking because of the greater chances of being killed and could not imagine leaving my boy to grow up without a dad.

Now I'm bummed.

I don't know what to say. Only knew him as a member, like many of us here. Totally shocked. My prayers go out to his family.
Go hug your wife and kids and tell em you love them.

I write this too all my friends with a very empty spot in my heart. words can't describe how I feel or felt for the past 15 hours. I can honestly say that I have never cried so much in my life. At first word of this news I went numb, then I wanted to hug my brother because I haven't seen him in a few weeks, then the tears came. They haven't stopped.
I kept calling STEFF and just kinda hanging up without saying anything. I couldn't talk , and I couldn't scream cuz' I was still at work. I couldn't leave work cuz' I could not pull myself together for the 10minute walk out of the building.
I finally left work an hour later and went home. Between blowing my nose and wiping my tears away people must have thought I was intoxicated. ( NOPE JUST LOST)...I felt like a real idiot when Procuda and 727jim called on my cell and I couldn't talk. I just cried......

Gary was like a brother to me, and many others. Now he is gone and I don't like it at all. I'm a very selfish person when it comes to my family and friends. Their mine, don't mess with 'em! Now he is gone. My wife and I always threatened Nicki and Gary that we were going to send our 2 kids home with them for a weekend, Gary was serious about taking them few times, Jake (My 6yrold ) started calling Gary Uncle after gary brought over a remote control ricer for him. I called Gary.. OD, because all the kids at the High School where he worked did. I thought it was cool.
Gary was the best. Gary was the most thoughtful person I have ever met. He just called me over the weekend because he said he hasn't heard from my on Moparts in a few days. He just wanted to know if everything was all right.
It was always great to here from OD, He just had away about him....Infectious ..

I'll stop there cuz I could go on rambling for hours. My Fat Cheeks and Eyes hurt from all the tears, and my Heart hurts cuz one of my best friends in the whole world is gone. . . ..Thank GOD I have a wonderful wife and wonderful friends like all you people to help me through Cuz I'm gonna need it!!

God bless you Gary, Nicki, all his family and all his friends!

Love , Bubba

I feel like I've been hit in the gut. Gary used to own a Yamaha Waveraider and recognized my screen name. He would e-mail me tips to make my ski faster and always replied to every e-mail that I sent him. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to meet him last year at the Nats.

I never met Gary, but one thing that I will always remember is when I finally got my Challenger fixed up and posted some pics here he was the first reply. What he said was that it is hard to make a flat hood challenger look mean, you my friend have suceeded.

Just the way he phrased his reply made me feel as if I had made a friend. He didn't know me from a hole in ground but he called me friend. Coming from some people it would have just been a word. Coming from him I knew he meant it.

He will be missed. My thoughts are with his family.

i feel really bad for posting this late......i guess i refused to believe it was true.

my take on mr. gary. he was always wiling to take time to explain things to me through a pm. never had to take the time to do it, but he always did - just as i am sure that all of you guys would. a really great all around guy. kinda makes me humbled to see how quickly things can change.....he will definetly be under my list of prayers for a good while.

I am still in shock over this. I have never met him, but he was always nice and level headed too. The scary thing is that i also drive that stretch very frequently. Also, as i sit here and have been up for almost 36 hours now, i cant sleep because all i can think of is Gary. Maybe i will wake tomorrow and read that this was all a mistake and that we can have gary back. No one should have to go through this, especiallly his wife. Ok i am done rambling now. Like i said earlier, we miss you, you were a class act.
