Damn...unexpected and shocking...

My thoughts and condolences to his family. At least he died with honor in the line of duty

Wow!

I remember when he took over for Brian_WO as a moderator.

He was a great organizer here at Moparts and seemed to be a born leader.

What a shock to hear of his passing.

I remember the Day that Tom told the mods that Un wanted to be considered for MOD status, without evening thinking about it I Told the guys that I thought he would be perfect for the job and I also knew it would upset some that a cop would then be a mod

The wife and I were out eating dinner a bit ago when I got a callasking if I had been to moparts yet lately and then was told why,I couldn't finish my dinner and drove home with a very heavy heart.
I also had never met Gary in person,he had followed me here to moparts when the Mancini mesage board was shut down for a while and we had spoke off and on over the years, last time I called him on his cell he told me to call anytime, kinda wish I had now
I think I will just call it a night and head for bed.

who is that guy?

I'm really hurting right now....I'm numb with sorrow.

From the very first day I had the good fortune to wander into this site, Gary was the first one that made me feel like this was "Home". Aside from being cut from the same Mopar cloth, as many of us are, Gary felt like somebody I've known my whole life. We've pm'ed many many times over the years and spoke on the phone for long long times about strokes, rod ratios, cams, intakes and Dana 60's. We also spoke of Family, of our wives support of this crazy thing that consumes our free time, and of the joys of fatherhood and being a friend. Like many of us, I feel like I've lost a good friend. I was so looking forward to meeting him, hopefully at Indy this year.

At times like these, one feels so powerless. It seems all we can do his hold him and his family close in our hearts, get on our knees and pray to God to watch over his loved ones and bestow his grace upon them. We can also offer whatever love and support we can to Gary's family, and may we all find peace in knowing he's up there with the Lord. We can also find strength in one other, many of us have been Gary's extended family as we are also family to eachother.

I know I'll never forget him. The very next time you crank up your Mopar, let Gary hear it up there. Somehow, I know he's up there waitin' on us, and to hear that rumble and knowing we're thinking of him will make him smile.

I will miss you every single day, my brother

Oh my God - what a shock! I can't believe what I'm reading!

I've met Gary a few times & what a decent person he was.

I am deeply saddened to hear this. My deepest sympathies go out to his wife, children, & all who were related to him & his friends. He was a big part of Moparts.

I will never forget this. It is so sad. Everybody drive carefully - life is already short.

RIP Gary.

I saw this post this morning, and tried to reply, but couldn't find the words. It's been on my mind all day.

God bless you Gary, and thank you for being a part of my life.

I am so sorry to hear this. I am just at a loss for words. Gary was always a great person to see online and an obvious assest to his community.

I just found out tonight and feel guilty for not replying sooner. A hectic schedule has kept me away from the forums. I am at a loss of words and find myself with tear filled eyes. Gary was truly a wonderful person willing to share and help anyone he could. Anyone who visits Moparts can verify that. I never met him yet feel as if I lost a dear friend. I just cant believe it.

I need some time to let this sink in. I am in absolute sorrow for his family and friends, God bless us all.

Unlawfl helped me out quite a bit. He had good advise and a good sense of humor. He will be missed.

May God grant peace and patience to his family to be able to endure this loss.

I'm still trying to catch my breath from hearing the news...

When I first saw this this morning, I was stunned. I looked at a few of the replies but had to stop and compose myself, since I was at work. When you think of some of the main folks who have made Moparts the best Mopar site on the web, Gary was one of those folks. A great Mopar guy, a great cop, a great family guy, and a great American. In stark contrast to those we are fighting on the other side of the world. He was so helpful, encouraging, and kind. I have never met him or even exchanged posts with him on here I guess. But I know we are all a little better persons ourselves because of him.
I actually had the Mopar Muscle issue in my minivan that Gary and his car were in a year ago. When I met my wife at Subway for lunch I took the mag with me to tell her what had happened today.
My prayers and thoughts go out to his family and his friends. I lost my teenage son and daughter in an auto accident back in '96. The empty spots are never filled, but God gives the grace to go on.

I didn't have the privilege of knowing Gary but it's obvious from reading all of the great things people have to say about him that he was a very special man. May Gary rest in peace and God bless all of his family and friends.
